Cashias Gumbo, Head of Sales

Cashias Gumbo brings over 20 years of experience in the global wine industry to Colab. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Cashias later moved to South Africa to pursue his studies and build a distinguished career in wine and hospitality. He is a certified sommelier with deep expertise spanning traditional retail, grocery, and specialty wine stores, complemented by extensive experience in hotel and food service environments.

Cashias holds respected wine qualifications from WSET and the Court of Master Sommeliers, and is an alumni of the Graduate School of Wine Business Program from  University of Cape Town. Alongside his wine credentials, he has a BA, MA, and also on an academic journey to obtain a PhD.

Having worked across multiple markets, Cashias has a strong understanding of the New Zealand wine landscape and brings strategic insight, technical knowledge, and commercial acumen to the team. He is widely regarded as a trusted and steady pair of hands at Colab.
